UPDATE: California Dream Shooting

On February 24, 2024, at approximately 6:15 a.m., a shooting occurred inside a Hookah Lounge named the California Dream Lounge located at 185 King Street East, Hamilton. 

The Hamilton Police Service – Shooting Response Team (SRT) has continued to investigate that shooting and can announce that three people have been arrested and charged in relation to the incident. At this time, the firearm used in the incident has not been recovered. 

The following individuals face charges:

 Daud HUSSEIN NOOR, a 21-year-old male from Hamilton.

  • Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose 
  • Assault with a Weapon 

Noor was arrested on June 1, 2024, after police were dispatched to a local bar where a firearm was observed by patrons.  When police arrived at the bar, three males fled on foot, including Noor.  He was arrested by responding patrol officers.  A firearm was recovered by police. In addition to the California Dream Lounge charges, Noor also faces additional charged related to the June 1 incident. These include:

  • Possession of loaded Prohibited Firearm
  • CDSA 5(2) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl 
  • Proceeds of Crime Under $5000.00
  • FTC Release Order 

Zakaria HASSAN ADAM, a 26-year-old male from Hamilton. He is charged with the following offences in relation to the California Dream Lounge shooting: 

  •  Reckless Discharge of a Firearm 
  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm 
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited Firearm 
  • Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Order X 5

Adam was arrested on June 2, 2024, after police responded to the Sankofa Bar, located at 92 Jackson St. E. in Hamilton for a minor vehicle collision.  Upon arrival at the bar, police were able to conduct a traffic stop on Adam who was operating a stolen vehicle.  Upon arrest, police recovered a firearm. Adam also faces additional charges in relation to the June 2 incident, including:

  • Possession of prohibited loaded firearm 
  • Point firearm x2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking CDSA 5(2) x2 – Percocet and Cocaine
  • Proceeds of Crime Under $5000 
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

Stefan TISER, a 45-year-old male from Hamilton.  He is charged with the following offences in relation to the California Dream Lounge shooting:

  •  Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Tiser has no connection to Adam or Noor as he is charged in relation to picking up a discarded firearm at the scene.  This firearm has not been recovered.
