On Sunday October 20th, 2024, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Hamilton Emergency Services were called to the area of Barton Street East and Prospect Street, for a report of an E-bike that had collided with a motor vehicle.
The male driver of the E-bike was transported to hospital with serious, life-threatening injuries. He remains in critical condition.
The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has taken carriage of the investigation. The affected stretch of Barton Street East was closed for several hours for the investigation but has since re-opened.
At this time, the police are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward. Investigators are also requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras and any residences or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to review their camera footage.
