Truck cuts across oncoming lane on Hamilton’s Linc, smashes through wall

A large truck had to be towed from the backyard of a Hamilton home after it drove off the Lincoln Alexander Parkway and smashed through a concrete noise barrier.

Hamilton police had part of the eastbound Garth Street exit blocked shortly after 12 p.m. Thursday while a heavy wrecker removed the vehicle.

They say the initial call came in around 9:42 a.m.

It remains unclear what led to this crash, but officials have confirmed that the driver was transported to hospital in stable condition.

Visible tire tracks in the grassy median that separates the two directions of traffic indicate that the vehicle had to have crossed in front of oncoming traffic before breaking through the retaining wall.

The scene has since been cleared and all lanes have reopened.
