An east Hamilton intersection was closed for several hours while police investigated a suspicious package in the area.
On Friday, the department took to social media to ask residents to avoid Highway 8 and Grays Road while investigating the package.
The intersection remain closed until shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, when police performed a controlled detonation.
Authorities say the package contained “sugar and wires.”
Highway 8 and Grays Road have since reopened.
