Suspects wanted in gunpoint robbery during dating app meet-up in Hamilton

Hamilton police are working to identify three suspects wanted in connection with a pair of armed robberies that happened on the same night last week.

The first incident happened on Friday when three suspects “randomly” met a 26-year-old man on a street and forced him at gunpoint to his apartment, where they stole a gaming station.

The other incident happened that same evening in the area of Concession and East 36th streets.

Officers say a 20-year-old man was contacted through a dating app to arrange a meeting. Upon arrival, three suspects allegedly attacked him and held him at gunpoint.

Investigators say the suspects stole his phone and used it to make a financial transaction.

The first suspect is described as being five-foot-nine tall with brown hair and a goatee. He was wearing a grey sweater, grey pants and white Crocs.

Police say the second suspect is five-foot-eight tall with brown curly hair. He was wearing grey shorts and white shoes at the time of the robberies.

The third suspect is described as being five-foot-eight tall and was wearing a black jacket and pants during the incidents.

Officers say all three suspects are males believed to be in their late teens or early 20s.
