Suspects Arrested While Washing Stolen Vehicle at Carwash

Hamilton Police arrest two individuals while they were washing a stolen vehicle.

On Sunday, May 5, 2024, officers observed a stolen vehicle travelling in the area of Campbell Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue North. Vehicle was being operated by a male driver with a female passenger.

The stolen vehicle was seen pulling into a self-serve car wash at the intersection of Main Street East and Prospect Street South. The male driver exited the vehicle and began to wash it, while a female passenger remained inside. Officers approached and arrested both the man and the woman without incident.

Police conducted a search incident to arrest of a black cross body satchel on Kyle Hunt, which yielded 42.15g of meth, fentanyl 11.37g, 27 dilauded pills, and $610.00 Canadian currency in various denominations.

Police conducted a search incident to arrest of PUTIGNANO, which yielded 0.58g fentanyl, 33.09 g cocaine, 6 clonazepam pills and $660.00 Canadian currency in various denominations.

A search of the vehicle yielded two throwing knives.

Kyle Hunt, a 34-year-old male of Hamilton has been charged for the following;    

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000
  • Operation while Prohibited
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Methamphetamine
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Dilaudid
  • Proceeds of Crime under $5,000
  • Possess Prohibited Weapon
  • Four Counts of Fail to Comply Probation

Olivia Putignano, a 32-year-old female of Hamilton has been charged for the following;

  • Occupant of Motor Vehicle without Consent
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Cocaine
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Fentanyl
  • Possession for the Purpose Schedule I – Clonazepam
  • Proceeds of Crime under $5,000
  • Possession over $5,000
