Sherwood Secondary School is in lockdown Monday afternoon.
An automated emergency alert system notice went out around 12:20 p.m., saying that the high school was “in lockdown due to a potentially serious violent threat or incident on school property.”
The school is asking people to not contact it or any student at this time in order to keep phone lines open for emergency calls.
The notice says Hamilton police are responding.
