Police seek ‘suspicious’ man who allegedly followed kids home from Hamilton park

Police are searching for a “suspicious” man accused of following a young girl and boy near a park on east Hamilton Mountain last weekend.

Officers say the man was seen loitering around 7 p.m. Sunday at Redhill Summit East Park on Bellagio Avenue.

Hamilton police say the man followed a young girl and boy who were walking home.

The unknown man allegedly reached for the girl’s hand, but didn’t say anything. The two youths then ran home and the man walked away.

Investigators say the man was last seen near Charleswood Crescent and Bellagio Avenue shortly after the incident.

He is described as being six-foot-two with a thin build. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt with the hood up, black pants, a full black ski mask and large dark sunglasses at the time of the incident.

Police say the man also appeared to be carrying a basketball tucked under his sweatshirt.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call police at 905-546-3886.
