Police seek suspect in suspicious pickup truck fire near Ancaster trail

Police are searching for a suspect after the owner of a pickup truck returned to his vehicle fully engulfed in flames near a trail in Ancaster last month.

Hamilton police say it happened shortly after 6 p.m. on May 19 in the area of Highway 52 and Powerline Road.

Officers say the man parked his Ford F150 in the trail parking lot before going on a bike ride. He then returned around 7 p.m. to his vehicle on fire.

Investigators say the incident has been deemed suspicious.

Police describe the suspect as having a medium build. They were wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt, a green face mask, grey shorts and black shoes with white soles.
