Police are appealing to the public for help in identifying two suspects accused of firing gunshots in the direction of a woman and a man in their 50s in Stoney Creek Thursday morning.
Officers say a driver and passenger in a four-door grey or silver Honda Civic discharged several rounds at the couple in the area of King Street East and Mountain Avenue.
Investigators say the suspects sped away southbound on Mountain Avenue.

Hamilton police say the man was the target of the shooting. Fortunately, no one was injured.
At this time police are investigating the reason for the shooting and have not shared the man and woman’s relationship or how many shots were fired at them.
Police have cordoned off part of Mountain Avenue and have deemed it a crime scene.
The two suspects are still on the loose and Public Information Officer Indy Bharaj of the Hamilton Police Service says “there’s always a concern to public safety when there’s a known firearm in our streets and event worse when its in the hands of someone whose shown disregard for life and intent to use the firearm.”

Police say it is likely they will be able to gather lots of video surveillance footage from surrounding businesses to help with their investigation.
Sam Missak who works at a nearby pharmacy said he has worked in the area for many years and Thursday’s events are very unusual for the safe neighbourhood.
Frank Castille a garage doorman says they were installing garage doors at a nearby building when workers heard three or four gunshots.
“It’s pretty scary during the day! We run out and there’s shells on the ground” said Castille, “We’re working here, five feet away, luckily no one was hurt.”
Anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area at the time of the shooting is asked to contact Det. Matthew Dugdale at 905-546-4883 or by email at shootingresponseteam@hamiltonpolice.ca.
