Police search for 2 men following midnight shooting in Hamilton

Hamilton police are asking the community for help identifying two men following a shooting incident that occurred overnight.

Officials were dispatched to a parking lot at 1127 Barton St. E. just after midnight, where they discovered evidence of shots being fired. The suspects had left the scene.

According to responding officers, initial reports indicated there were sounds of gunshots after two men had engaged in a physical altercation.

No physical injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Police are now looking to speak with the two men described by witnesses.

The first man officials are searching for is described as having short, cropped hair with facial hair, around five-foot-ten and 160 lbs. He was last seen running south on Ottawa Street.

Officers say the second man was last seen wearing a leather jacket, baseball cap, and dark jeans. He also has short, cropped hair, and was driving a truck heading west on Barton Street East.

Hamilton police are asking residents and business owners in the area where the shooting happened to check their security camera footage between the hours of 11:30 p.m. Wednesday and 12:15 a.m. Thursday for any suspicious activity.
