Police Arrest Male for Criminal Harassment After Incident Involving Youth

Hamilton Police have arrested a 23-year-old male for Criminal Harassment after an incident involving two youth in the area of Woodlands Park.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 28, 2024 a 13-year-old female and a 14-year-old female were approached by the male driver of a white motor vehicle. The driver pulled up alongside the youth, attempted to engage them in conversation, and asked them to get in his car. The youth obtained the licence plate of the vehicle and called 911.

Police responded promptly and were able to locate and arrest the suspect a short time later. The male was charged with two counts of Criminal Harassment. His bail was opposed, and he remains in custudy.

Hamilton Police urge the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity immediately. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of personal safety and the role of community awareness in preventing crime. Parents and guardians are encouraged to talk to their children about staying alert and knowing what to do if approached by someone unknown to them.
