Police arrest Hamilton man after seizing guns, ammunition

A 38-year-old Hamilton man is facing numerous charges after police carried out a search warrant, and seized multiple firearms, ammunition, and extended magazines.

On Tuesday, officers dispatched to an address on East 24th Street on the Hamilton Mountain after receiving information about the presence of firearms.

A loaded handgun, a loaded non-restricted rifle, two extended magazines and ammunition were all taken into police custody.

Johnathan Campbell was arrested and now faces numerous charges relating to this investigation. Some of these alleged offences include trafficking weapons, threatening to cause death or bodily harm, and possession of prohibited weapons.

In a statement, Hamilton police said “the fight against gun violence is a shared responsibility.”

“We urge all residents to remain vigilant and report any information related to firearms or suspicious activities to Hamilton Police,” officials said.
