Motorcyclist Struck on Garth Street

On Sunday September 1st, 2024, at approximately 7:14 pm, a motor vehicle collision occurred in the area of Garth Street at Darlington Drive, in the City of Hamilton. A 72-year-old male, was driving his motorcycle southbound on Garth Street, approaching Darlington Drive. The motorcyclist was struck by a black 2008 Mazda 3 sedan travelling northbound in the southbound lanes. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital and is in serious but stable condition.  

The driver of the sedan tried to leave the scene but was subsequently arrested by police.  

The 30-yr-old male driver of the sedan has been charged with: 

  • Dangerous operation 
  • Drive while under suspension 

All roads in the area have reopened.
