Man shot in foot in Hamilton’s Rosedale neighbourhood

An early morning shooting in an east Hamilton neighbourhood has sent a man to hospital.

Police say they received a report around 6:30 a.m. on Monday from a man who said he had been shot in the foot near Cochrane Road South and Hixon Road.

He was taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say the shooting took place sometime between 2:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.

According to police, the preliminary investigation has led them to believe they’re looking for two male suspects driving a silver two-door Honda.

The incident remains under investigation, and the department has put out a public appeal for witnesses.

Area residents are asked to review any surveillance footage they may have from the night of the shooting.

Anyone with information on the matter is encouraged to contact police by phoning 905-546-4883.

“At this time, there is no evidence to suggest that this shooting is linked to any other incidents,” the department said in a news release.
