Man arrested after weekend sexual offence investigation

Hamilton Police have arrested a 38-year-old male after receiving reports of a sexual assault.

On October 3, 2024, the suspect was driving a green Dodge pick-up truck in the area of Cannon Street and Sherman in Hamilton when he approached two young females asking if they wanted a ride. The suspect drove the females back to his residence where the sexual assaults occurred. The incident was reported to police on October 13, 2024. 

Dwayne Smith, 38-years-old from Hamilton, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Sexual Assault x2
  • Sexual Interference x2
  • Possessing Child Pornography
  •  

Hamilton Police believe that there may be more victims.
