Hamilton Police are appealing to the public for assistance following a shooting incident in the City’s East End last night. Officers arrived at the scene on Oriole Crescent to find evidence of gunfire and property damage. As the investigation unfolds, community members can expect to see our officers continuing to process the scene and canvass for witnesses and video today.
Shortly after 10:00 p.m., on Sunday, May 26, 2024, Hamilton Police responded to multiple reports of possible shots fired in the area of 2 Oriole Crescent in the City’s East End. Initial reports indicated the sounds of gunfire were heard, with additional information suggesting shots were being fired into the air from the sunroof of a moving vehicle.
Upon arrival, officers secured the scene, although the suspect(s) had already fled the area. Evidence revealed damage to vehicles, including shattered windows, and residences in the area were found with bullet holes on windows. Shell casings were discovered in various locations, including on the roadway.
It has been confirmed that the shooting incident occurred from a moving vehicle, last seen traveling north on Oriole Crescent.
No physical injuries have been reported to police at this time in relation to the shooting.
