Hamilton Police are appealing to the public for assistance following a shooting incident in the city early this morning.
Officers arrived at the scene on Market Street to find evidence of gunfire. As the investigation unfolds, community members can expect to see our officers continuing to process the scene and canvass for witnesses and video today.
Shortly after 5:00 a.m., on Sunday, June 23, 2024, Hamilton Police responded to a report of possible shots fired in the area of 155 Market Street in the City’s downtown. Initial reports indicated the sound of gunfire was heard, with additional information suggesting two suspects were observed fleeing the scene on foot.
Upon arrival, officers secured the scene, although the suspect(s) had already fled the area. Evidence confirmed a shooting had taken place.
No physical injuries have been reported to police at this time in relation to the shooting.
The suspects have been described as follows:
Suspect One
- Male, black
- Approximately 6’2
- Stalky build
- Baby blue jumpsuit
- Matching baby blue Nike shoes
Suspect Two
- White, male
- Blue sandals
- Couple inches shorter than suspect one
- Thin build
