During that incident, police say he had been trying to break into an apartment at 175 Hunter St. West when he physically assaulted a 40-year-old woman with a firearm and then proceeded to rob a 70-year-old woman of her cellphone before fleeing.

La should be considered armed and dangerous, police say. If spotted, dial 911 immediately.
