Hamilton police have released a pair of shocking videos Tuesday in a bid to identify the suspects wanted in connection with two separate shootings over the past month.
The first video shows two men firing shots at each other on Aug. 10 around 7 p.m. in the area of Sanford Avenue North and King Street East.
A man in a black hooded sweatshirt can be seen walking away from two other men on a sidewalk and shooting a gun at them.
One of the men on the sidewalk then shoots back at the man on the road multiple times. The man in the black hooded sweatshirt runs away while continuing to return gunfire.
A third person caught up in the middle of the shootout can be seen in the video being what police call “a human shield.” He was not physically injured.
“This individual’s account could be critical in bringing clarity to the events that transpired, and we urge him to come forward,” reads a police statement.
Investigators describe the first shooter as a Black man who is in his early 20s. He was wearing black pants and a black or dark blue Puma sweatshirt with the hood up.
Police believe the other shooter is a male with a dark or tan complexion who was wearing a grey sweatshirt with the hood down and dark pants or blue jeans.
