Police seized a loaded firearm after responding to a single vehicle collision Wednesday near the Kenilworth Access road.
Officers responded to a single vehicle collision where a man had crashed his car into the guardrail near the road.
The man allegedly told police that his car had mechanical issues.
Investigators say they suspected the man was impaired and administered a roadside breath test. They say the man failed the test.
Officers then arrested the man for impaired driving. Investigators subsequently searched the man and found a loaded firearm on his body.
The 35-year-old man from Hamilton was then charged for impaired operation of a vehicle and possession of a restricted loaded firearm.
