In June, Kippen Cares became the focal point of several allegations of animal abuse after a customer’s dog died while in its care.
In the days that followed, an angry mob took to the streets outside the property on Parkside Drive and confronted the business owner.
During the confrontation, an assault occurred, and police were called to the scene.
A break-in occurred at the property sometime afterward, and a dog named Buster was stolen from the home.
Another separate police investigation was then launched that sought to identify the woman responsible for the assault and locate the whereabouts of the accused dog nappers.
On Friday, Hamilton police said that a “45-year-old Hamilton woman turned herself into Hamilton Police for an assault captured on video” and that two other people were arrested Thursday for the break and enter.
The department added that it will not release any additional details on the matter as the charges are still before the courts.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact Det. Sami Haddad by phoning 905-546-3818.
