Hamilton police issue arrest warrant for man wanted in attempted armed break-in

Hamilton police have issued an arrest warrant for a man wanted in connection with an attempted break-in with a firearm last week.

Officers say they were called on May 30 around 8:30 p.m. when two armed men were seen trying to break into an apartment unit located at 175 Hunter St. West.

Investigators say a woman in her 40s was in the hallway screaming and covered in blood after she was struck in the forehead with a firearm.

Another woman in her 70s intervened, but the two men then robbed her of her cellphone.

The two men fled the apartment on foot.

Paramedics transported the woman in her 40s to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman in her 70s sustained a minor injury.
