Hamilton Police are investigating a targeted shooting believed to have occurred in the early morning hours and investigators are asking for the community’s assistance in providing any information that may help in the investigation.
Shortly before 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 12, 2024, Hamilton Police responded to reports of a man suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of Rainbow Drive and Secord Drive. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a 27-year-old man had been shot. He was transported to hospital for medical treatment and remains in non-life threatening condition.
Investigators are currently working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. At this time in the investigation the shooting is believed to have taken place in the area of Nash Road North and Bancroft Street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. Anyone with video from the area is asked to check their cameras for any evidence of suspicious activity and 12:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m.
