Hamilton Police Investigating Homicide on Highway 6

Hamilton Police are investigating a homicide after an altercation took place at a party in a short-term rental property on Highway 6.

At approximately 4:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a reported shooting near Concession 6 E. Upon arriving, police found a male victim with non-life-threatening injuries. The male reported he had been shot at a party located in a nearby short-term rental property. Upon arriving at the property, police learned at least two other victims had fled the scene and one later succumbed to his injuries in a car nearby. A female sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are working to identify the victim and locate next of kin.

There were approximately 60 people in attendance at the party. Investigators are interviewing witnesses to determine what took place. At this time, police do not have a suspect or vehicle description.

Highway 6 is closed in both directions between Concession 6 E and Concession 7 E. Halton Regional Police Service and OPP are assisting with traffic as investigators process the scene.
