Hamilton Police Investigated a Fail to Remain Motor Vehicle Collision

At 7:18 am, the Hamilton Police responded to a fail to remain collision that occurred at Upper Ottawa and Rymal Road in which two suspects were observed fleeing the scene on foot. Officers were quick to respond to the area, locate and apprehend two males closely matching the description. Investigation led to identifying both males as, Barry White and Di yar Abdulrafar Majid, who were wanted by Police on outstanding arrest warrants.

Barry White was wanted in several investigations with charges that included a break and enter that occurred to a residence near Wilson Street, West, and Orchard Drive, in Ancaster, on March 11, 2024. During this entry the resident’s vehicle was stolen. In addition, he is facing other charges in relation to other stolen vehicles and several counts of failing to comply with a court order. Di yar Abdulrafar Majid’s outstanding warrant was in relation to the possession of a stolen vehicle.

Both males were brought before the court for a bail hearing today on their outstanding criminal warrants. Barry White was remanded into custody while Di yar Abdulrafar Majid was released with a future court date.

The collision involved a single motor vehicle. The vehicle collided with a traffic light pole resulting in the pole being completely severed. City officials responded to make repairs. Police are still investigating this collision.
