Hamilton police investigate fatal crash involving motorcycle and HSR bus

Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a city bus on Hamilton Mountain Wednesday evening.

Officers say it happened around 8:15 p.m. when a southbound motorcycle struck a northbound bus that was turning left into the Hamilton Street Railway bus terminal off of Upper James Street.

Investigators say the 18-year-old man who was driving the motorcycle died at the scene.

The 61-year-old bus driver was not injured and there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.

Investigators with the collision reconstruction unit are asking any witnesses or people with surveillance video to come forward.
