On Saturday July 6, 2024, the Hamilton Police responded to a report of a death in the area of 1462 Upper James Street in Hamilton. Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male in the field behind the property.
The scene was held pending an autopsy. The autopsy was conducted yesterday, however, the cause of death was not clear and continues to be investigated. Additional tests will take several months.
The deceased, whose name is not being released at this time, is from the Hamilton area. His family has been notified.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death and will continue to be in the area over the next couple of days, speaking to witnesses and seeking video from neighbouring businesses.
