Hamilton police arrest 2 involved in series of Waterdown break and enters

Police have arrested two people connected to a series of break and enters at local businesses that happened in August in the Waterdown area.

Officers learned that three businesses in the Waterdown area were targeted in a string of break and enters on Aug. 20.

The department’s break and enter unit say were able to identify two people responsible for the incidents.

Detectives say they attempted to arrest one of the suspects on Monday, when one of the police cruisers was rammed by another vehicle.

Investigators arrested 25-year-old Jacob Benford from Hamilton and a 16-year-old boy Wednesday in connection to the break and enters.

Hamilton police have charged both suspects with counts related to mischief and theft of over $5,000.
