Hamilton police appeal for information in separate night shootings

Police in Hamilton say they have opened two separate investigations into shooting incidents that both occurred Wednesday evening.

Officers first received reports of a shooting around 8:11 p.m. at the Chuck’s Roadhouse plaza at 135 Upper Centennial Pky., formerly a Boston Pizza location.

Once on scene, police found evidence of gunfire. The restaurant was unoccupied at the time of the incident.

Witnesses to this first shooting are describing the suspect vehicle as a black Honda. They also identify the driver as a tanned man wearing a medical mask.

Shortly after the first reported shooting, another call came in to police detailing reports of shots fired in the area of Spring Valley Crescent.

Officers dispatched to the area, where evidence of a shooting was confirmed.

There were two individuals at the residence during the incident, but police say no injuries were reported.

Witnesses describe the suspect vehicle as a dark grey Honda Civic with two men inside, and both were also wearing medical masks.

In a statement, Hamilton police said the information they have at this stage is preliminary, and may change as the investigation ensues.

“At this time, the two incidents are being investigated separately,” officials said.

“As information continues to come in, we will determine if there is any connection between the two shootings.”

Officials are asking anyone with information to contact them at 905-546-4925.

They are also urging the community to be on the lookout for a dark-coloured or grey, four-door Honda, with a driver wearing a medical mask.
