An elementary school in Hamilton’s Durand neighbourhood has been placed in a hold-and-secure as police carry out a search warrant nearby.
Police say in a social media post around 1:30 p.m. that Central Elementary School was put in a hold-and-secure as a precaution.
“The staff and students remain safe as officers continue to work through the investigation,” the force says in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter.
Officers did not immediately specify what they are investigating.
