Arrest made at Woodland Park in Hamilton after 2 girls harassed

A 23-year-old man was arrested for criminal harassment Sunday evening after an incident involving two girls in the area near Woodlands Park.

Hamilton police responded to a call of harassment made after about 6 p.m. to Woodlands Park on Barton Street East.

Officers discovered a man drove up to a 13-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl in a white vehicle. The driver allegedly attempted to talk to the girls and asked them to get into his car.
The girls obtained the vehicle’s license plate and called police.

The man was charged with two counts of criminal harassment and remains in custody after his bail was opposed.

Hamilton police urge the community to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity immediately to police.
