On Sunday, Hamilton police said they had arrested three men in connection to the incident.
The first round of charges laid was against 21-year-old Daus Noor Hussein from Hamilton.
Noor was taken into custody on Saturday after the patrons of a local bar spotted him with a firearm and made a report, officers say.
Upon their arrival, Noor and two other men made a break for it on foot. Noor was taken into custody by the attending officers and charged with several offences relating to both the California Dream Lounge shooting and that night in particular, they are:
- Possession of loaded Prohibited Firearm
- CDSA 5(2) Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Fentanyl
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5000.00
- FTC Release Order
The second person police have arrested in connection to the February shooting was 26-year-old Zakaria Hassan Adam, also from Hamilton.
Police say they caught up with him after he was in a minor fender bender at the Sankofa Bar, located at 92 Jackson St. E.
There, police quickly pieced together that the car he was driving was stolen and made an arrest. A search of the vehicle led police to recover a firearm.
In addition to his charges stemming from the shooting earlier this year, Adam is facing charges of:
- Possession of prohibited loaded firearm
- Point firearm x2
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking CDSA 5(2) x2 – Percocet and Cocaine
- Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
A third person who has no connection to either of the other men has been charged in connection to the California Dream Lounge shooting.
Police say Stefan Tiser, a 45-year-old opportunist from Hamilton, picked up a discarded firearm that was left behind on Feb. 24.
To date, it has not been recovered.
He is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police say anyone who feels they have information that could assist them call 905-546-4883.
