2 men wanted for allegedly stabbing man who tried to intervene during assault

Hamilton police are searching for two men accused of stabbing a Good Samaritan who tried to intervene in an assault at Gage Park.

Officers say it happened around 5 p.m. Monday when a 48-year-old man saw two people harassing an unidentified man.

He was then stabbed when he tried to step in. Paramedics transported him to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators say both suspects fled the scene on bicycles, taking some of the victim’s belongings with them.

Police describe the first suspect as a white man who is approximately 18 years old with shaggy brown hair. He was wearing dark clothing and a long-sleeved shirt at the time of the stabbing.

The second suspect is described as a brown man who is 18 years old with freckles on his face.

Investigators continue to canvas the area for video surveillance and witnesses.
