2 Hamilton residents charged in armed carjackings in Halton last year

Two Hamilton men are facing charges in connection with four armed carjackings across Burlington and Oakville last year.

Halton police say the violent carjackings happened on Oct. 7, 21, 28 and 29 in public areas.

In all incidents, the suspects armed with handguns allegedly approached the drivers and tried to remove them from their high-end vehicles.

No one was injured in any of the carjackings.

Halton police then launched an investigation with the help of Hamilton police, which led to the arrests of two of the suspects on June 27.

A 28-year-old Hamilton man is facing four counts of robbery with a firearm.

A 15-year-old Hamilton boy has been charged with robbery with a firearm and failing to comply with youth probation in relation to a carjacking that took place on Oct. 28, 2023.

Investigators say they are not identifying the 28-year-old man in order to protect the identity of the 15-year-old accused.

Both suspects are being held in custody pending a bail hearing in Milton.

The investigation is ongoing as officers continue to search for more suspects.
