Study Area Map of Waterdown Trunk Watermain Twinning EA

The City of Hamilton initiated the Waterdown Trunk Watermain Twinning Class EA and Conceptual Design to develop, evaluate, and select the overall preferred trunk watermain route alternative to service the Waterdown area.

The Study Process

This study is being planned as a Schedule B Class EA, satisfying Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Class EA process, which is a planning process approved under Ontario’s Environmental Assessment Act. This study has defined the problem/opportunity, developed, evaluated alternative solutions, determined the most feasible solution, and identified methods to avoid or minimize impacts to the community and natural environment.

How to Participate

The City of Hamilton encourages the public and stakeholders to participate in this planning process. Public Information
Centre (PIC) No. 3 will be held in-person. This PIC No. 3 will present the evaluation and selection of the preliminary preferred trunk
watermain route and the potential impacts and mitigation measures. This is the third and final PIC for this study. We are presenting the watermain route recommendations and seeking input from the public at this PIC ahead of finalizing the report in 2024.

Date: Wednesday, June 5, 2024
Time: 6 to 8 pm
Location: Harry Howell (North Wentworth) Arena & Community Centre, 27 Highway 5 West, Hamilton
