Lane restrictions on Governors Road in effect

HAMILTON, ON – To safely complete construction work, the City of Hamilton will reduce traffic to one lane in each direction on Governors Road from Main Street to 100 metres west of Ogilvie Street in Dundas (Ward 13), as of Monday, June 10, 2024.

The scope of work includes road and sidewalk reconstruction, watermain replacement, trunk sanitary sewer rehabilitation and bridge rehabilitation.

Construction is anticipated to be complete by December 2024. Businesses in the area will remain open during the construction.

While it is not anticipated the work will require closing the road entirely while construction is underway, the lane restrictions will result in traffic delays. Motorists should take an alternate route to avoid the closure.

This construction work will not impact Emergency Services and their accessibility to residents.

The City of Hamilton thanks motorists, pedestrians and cyclists for their patience as we complete this important infrastructure reconstruction.
