Worked injured at chemical plant in Burlington passes away

A man who was injured at a chemical plant in Burlington last Thursday has died.

The Ministry of Labour says it was notified that the worker passed away on Sunday.

The original incident occurred on April 4, when crews were called out to an industrial accent at the ControlChem water treatment plant on Harvester Road shortly before 12 p.m.

At the time, one person was taken to hospital in serious condition, and a ministry inspector was assigned to investigate the accident.

“Our thoughts and condolences for worker’s family, friends, and loved ones,” the ministry said in a statement.

“As the ministry’s investigation is ongoing, we cannot provide further details at this time.”
