Thousands of people spent the day enjoying free entertainment, food, and various activities at the annual Winona Peach Festival on Saturday.
The free event is held at Winona Park in Stoney Creek and is expected to see over 150 thousand people this weekend.
Kids who attended say this is the best way to end their summer before heading back to school with roller coasters, funnel cakes, craft stations and much more.
Debbie Brammer, one of the event organizers, says it is a great way to give back to the community.
“It’s an opportunity for the community to come together. The organizations that are food vendors,” she said, adding that “the money they raise goes right back into the community.”
Kendra Wintels says she’s been attending the peach festival for years, but this year will be her first behind the table, promoting her dance business.
“We have had an amazing experience, it’s so well run, just seeing the whole community out and talking to people has been amazing.”
With over 100 vendors and free entertainment, there is something for everyone.
The festival runs until 10 p.m. on Saturday and will open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
