Here’s a look at what will be open and closed in Hamilton, Halton and Niagara for Canada Day.
Transit
Across all regions, city buses will be operating on a Sunday/holiday schedule.
Burlington Transit will offer free transit services for the public to attend its Canada Day events until 11:30 p.m.
Open
- Outdoor pools in the City of Hamilton remain open;
- Outlet Collection at Niagara will be open with reduced hours;
- Some Beer Store locations; and
- Most major tourist attractions in Niagara Falls and Toronto including the Journey Behind; the Falls and Ripley’s Aquarium.
Closed
- Banks, government offices and post offices will be closed Monday
- Most shopping centres will be closed Saturday including CF Lime Ridge Mall, The Pen Centre and Mapleview Mall
- Some Shoppers Drug Mart locations will be closed Monday
- Major grocery stores will be closed Monday
- All LCBO locations will be closed Monday
- All Hamilton Public Library branches will be closed Monday
- All Hamilton city indoor recreation centres will be closed
- Niagara community centres will be closed Monday
Waste Collection
- Garbage collection in Hamilton and Halton is moved ahead one day all week.
- There’s no change to collection this week in the Niagara Region.
