The Stanley Cup and champions Jonah Gadjovich and Carter Verhaeghe are visiting St. Catharines and Waterdown in the off-season.
Jonah Gadjovich, the left wing from Whitby who won the cup with the Florida Panthers this year, is bringing the cup to the Athlete Farm Niagara in St. Catharines on Thursday.
The training facility invites its members to meet with the champion and to grab a photo with the cup.

Carter Verhaeghe from Waterdown who has become a champion twice will bring the cup home to Harry Howell Arena on Monday. Verhaeghe won the cup as a forward for the Tampa Bay Lighting in 2020 and again playing for the Florida Panthers this year with teammate Gadjovich.
Verhaeghe said in a release, āIām really looking forward to sharing the Cup with the community that has played such an important role in my development as a player and as a person.ā
The arena is inviting residents to come see and meet the local hero and to get a close-up look at the cup. The public event will run from noon to 1 p.m., but due to capacity and time limits, no autographs will be signed at the event and the first 300 residents will be accommodated for a photo opportunity.
The City of Hamilton is offering a free drop-in skate event at the arena from noon to 3 p.m. around the event, but regrets that Verhaeghe will not be able to join in the community skate.
