Suspicious vehicle complaint in Dunnville leads to weapons charges

A suspicious vehicle report and following search on Sept. 28 Haldimand county led police to arrest and charge a man with weapons charges.

Ontario provincial police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint at around 2:30 p.m. on Lock Street in Dunnville, Ont.

Officers say they found the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

Detectives say as a result of the investigation, 19-year-old William Sojourner from the state of Ohio in the United States.

Sojourner has been charged with multiple offences involved with possessing an illegally imported weapon, possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose, and for bringing the weapon into Canada obtained by crime.

He is being held in police custody and is scheduled to appear in a Cayuga courthouse on Wednesday.
