Niagara police are investigating a Monday afternoon collision in Pelham between a Dodge Caravan and a transport truck in which a Welland man sustained serious injuries.
Police, paramedics and fire services were called to a crash on Victoria Avenue at Foss Road between the 2012 silver caravan and the 2015 white Kenworth truck.
The 48-year-old driver of the caravan was transported by paramedics to an out-of-region hospital for further care. The driver of the truck was a 45-year-old Wainfleet man and did not suffer any injuries.
The Dodge sustained severe damage and is believed to be beyond repair. Damage to the transport truck is estimated at $4,000.
During the investigation Victoria Avenue was closed between Wiley Road and Concession 1, and Foss Road was closed between Victoria Avenue and Farr Road. Roads were re-opened Monday evening.
