Part of James Street North will be closed to vehicular traffic tonight as Art Crawl gets underway.
As per tradition, the second Friday of every month marks the popular event where the street transforms into a hub of art, music and tasty treats.
From 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. James Street will be closed from York Boulevard to Murray Street as the stretch of roadway fills with pedestrian foot traffic and vendors.
These kinds of road closures will continue to occur until August.
In September, the event will reach its zenith as it becomes Supercrawl — a three-day festival that sees hundreds of thousands of visitors and many notable artists and musicians.
Last year, the super festival drew several distinguished bands like BADBADNOTGOOD, and Broken Social Scene.
This year’s lineup has not yet been announced, but organizers say an announcement will be coming later this month.
