Port Colborne man hits cop car, crashes into guard rail

A 19-year-old from Port Colborne is facing charges after police say they witnessed him crash his car.

Officers say they were on patrol in the Town of Wainfleet on Friday night when they witnessed a car driving erratically.

According to their report, they witnessed a car with three people in it roll a stop sign near Lakeshore Road and Bessey Road around 7 p.m.

After running the stop sign, the driver “narrowly” struck the cruiser before swerving away to avoid any further damage, only to drive into a guard rail.

No one was hurt, but a 19-year-old man was arrested.

Zachery Seebach of Port Colborne is facing charges of impaired driving, dangerous operation, failing to have proof of insurance and being a novice driver with a blood alcohol level over zero.

He was released on an undertaking and is expected to have his day in court in the near future.
