Police seek armed man who allegedly approached young girls in Burlington

Halton police are looking to identify a man who allegedly approached two young girls while holding a knife in Burlington.

Officers say the incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Sunday while the two girls were walking in an alleyway behind a plaza located at 676 Appleby Line.

The man was on a bicycle and holding a large kitchen knife during the encounter.

Investigators say the two girls were not injured.

The girls fled the scene and called police, however, the suspect was not found.

Police say the man was last seen riding on a bicycle on the westbound Centennial Bikeway Trail in Burlington.

He is described as an Asian man who is approximately 50 years old with long black hair in a bun and a thin build. He is missing a top tooth and was seen wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt with blue gloves and white and black checkered pants.
