Police investigate after fire in Beamsville engulfs unoccupied stolen vehicle

Emergency crews responded to a fire on Tufford and South Service Roads Wednesday evening where a stolen vehicle was fully engulfed in flames.

Niagara Regional Police say they responded to reports of a fire in Beamsville after 6:20 p.m. At the fire they found a 2023 GMC Sierra pickup truck that was on fire parked on the roadside.

Officers say the vehicle was listed as stolen and unoccupied. Police also says that no damage was reported to any hydro lines or nearby vegetation.

Detectives say they have not identified the cause of the fire and that there are no suspects at this time.

Investigators say the vehicle was destroyed by the fire and has been towed to a local impound.
