Police charge Brantford man accused of stealing $150K in construction tools

Police have charged a Brantford man accused of stealing over $150,000 worth of construction tools last week.

Officers say the equipment was reported stolen on June 11 following a break-in at a construction site in a nearby jurisdiction.

Investigators carried out a search warrant at a property on West Street in Brantford, where they recovered the stolen items, including a towable power generator, trailer and various construction tools.

Police arrested and charged a 36-year-old man with break and enter, theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen goods over $5,000.

Officers say the man, who they refused to publicly name, had three outstanding warrants and was held for a bail hearing.
