Police charge 2 in connection to man’s body found in St. Catharines home

Niagara police have arrested and charged two people in connection to the death of Jonathan Cronkwright in St. Catharines on Sunday.

Johnathon’s sister, Ashely Cronkwright, says she didn’t know the arrests happened, but is relieved to have closure.

32-year-old Jonathon Cronkwright went missing on February 29th.

A search group was led by his friends and family, and just over a week later, they found his body at a home on Raymond Street in St. Catharines.

His sister Ashley Cronkwright said at the time that the community has done more investigating than the police.

On Sunday, Niagara police arrested and charged 34-year-old Michael Patterson and 33-year-old Samantha Embert with neglecting a dead body.

Niagara police say they recognize the difficult time and circumstances endured by Jonathan’s family and friends and appreciate their cooperation with the investigation.

Foul play is not suspected in Jonathan’s death.
