Police bust human-trafficking operation at Niagara Falls hotel

Two people have been arrested after police responded to a human trafficking call at a hotel in Niagara Falls yesterday.

The investigation began after a police report tipped the department off that something was awry at an area hotel.

Details are few, however the bust ultimately ended in the arrest of two people, one of them a 16-year-old from Wasaga Beaach.

The other person charged is 26-year-old Lomar Brown of Markham. He’s facing charges of:

• Trafficking in persons under 18 years of age

• Advertising another person’s sexual services

• Procuring person under 18 years of age

• Financial benefit from trafficking person under 18 years of age

• Material benefit from sexual services provided by person under 18 years of age

• Possess proceeds obtained by crime under $5000.00

• Trafficking in person’s by exercising control

• Procuring

• Forcible confinement

Two victims were identified as a result of this case. Their conditions remain unknown.

Police say the two were scheduled for a bail hearing following their arrest.

Officers add that the investigation remains on going.
